Using DiskClean : Assignment 1

About DiskClean

DiskClean is a utility that comes with Microsoft windows 98 and later

It removes uneccesary files

Step One : start DiskClean

Click on the Start Button

Navigate the Start menu as Shown

Through Programs, Accessories and into System Tools

Select DiskClean

Running DiskClean

Step Two : choose drive to clean

When DiskClean runs it displays this dialog box

DiskClean choose drive

From here you select the hard disk drive you want to clean.

Step Three : Choose Options

When Diskclean runs it brings up a dialog with three tabs that allows you to alter any options needed before you execute the cleaning process

This tab enables you to choose what areas diskclean deletes files from. You can select or unselect from each area by using the checkbox. If you want to view files from each area. Click on the viewfiles button after selecting the area.

The More options Tab

This tab enables you to remove programs from windows to make more disk space. Note that Cancel at the bottom of the Disk Clean dialog does not undo this removeal.

The Settings Tab

This tab enables you to specify wether Diskclean runs automatically on the drive, when the drive runs out of space.

Step Three : Clean the Drive

When you are ready to clean the drive Click on OK. Diskclean will ask if you want to continue. Select Yes.

When it has finished cleaning it will close itself and you are done.
